Introduction
This Backup and Disaster Recovery Policy ("Policy") outlines the processes and responsibilities for ensuring the integrity and availability of data through regular backups and disaster recovery measures at Web Temple ("We," "Us," "Our"). By using our services, you agree to the terms in this Policy.
Scope
Hosting services
Managed services
Larvee application products
Data stored on customer-managed systems unless explicitly covered under a managed services agreement.
Backup Process
All standard backups are performed on a weekly basis by default. Incremental backups are maintained as part of the standard process, with up to 4 weekly backup copies retained.
Standard backups retain data for a maximum of 4 weeks.
Other backup frequencies or retention periods may be provided as a commercial option or based on a separate agreement as specified by the customer.
Standard backup services are only available for infrastructure managed and controlled by us. For infrastructure outside of our management, customers are fully responsible for their own backup and restoration processes.
Custom or separate backup subscriptions tailored to specific customer requirements are available as a commercial service. Customers without such subscriptions are entirely responsible for managing their own backups and restoration processes.
Backups are encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard encryption protocols (e.g., AES-256).
Disaster Recovery Process
Disaster recovery is activated for incidents such as:
Hardware failures
Cyberattacks (e.g., ransomware, malware attacks, injections, unauthorized access, or account compromise leading to system or application breach)
Natural disasters
Recovery Time Objective (RTO): Recovery times may vary based on multiple factors, such as data size, available bandwidth, and the complexity of the recovery process. While we aim to expedite recovery for critical services, no specific timeframe is guaranteed. Additionally, recovery timelines and objectives may be tied to specific or separate agreements for other services and/or custom backup services subscribed by the you.
Recovery Point Objective (RPO): For the default standard backup, data loss is limited to no more than 8 days of data. For other backup options, data loss limitations depend on the backup services subscribed by the customer and specified in a separate agreement.
For standard backup (default), disaster recovery procedures are tested once a year unless otherwise requested or stated in a separate agreement, such as from custom backup services that the you subscribe to.
Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for ensuring data stored on our systems complies with applicable laws and regulations.
While we provide backup services, you are encouraged to maintain additional backups for critical data.
Notify us immediately of any issues that may require backup restoration or disaster recovery.
Limitations and Liability
We take reasonable steps to ensure backups are performed as scheduled, but we do not guarantee recovery for data modified or deleted outside the backup schedule. Additionally, we cannot guarantee that all data can be restored successfully, as restoration depends on various factors including data integrity, system conditions, and other unforeseeable circumstances.
We are not responsible for data loss resulting from customer-managed configurations or third-party integrations.
Our liability for backup or disaster recovery failures is limited to the amount paid for the affected services within the last 12 months, provided the customer maintains an active subscription or service agreement for at least six (6) months prior to the date of the claim.
Amendments
This Policy may be updated to reflect changes in our backup and disaster recovery processes. Customers are advised to review this Policy on our website periodically to stay informed of any changes.
While not obligated, we may provide notifications of significant updates as a gesture of goodwill.
